Wishing you and your family a Merry Christmas from Down Under!!!

RecipeTin Eats Christmas - Nagi and Dozer

Just like last year, it was 2 days before Christmas when I realised I didn’t have a Christmas photo and found myself scrambling to take a last minute picture so I could send out Happy Holiday wishes.

And just like last year, I found myself gripping Dozer in a chokehold, forcing him to look at the camera in an attempt to capture a half decent Christmas-cheery portrait of us. Dozer attempting to flee at every opportunity, me grabbing him by his tail, pulling him back, dragging him into position, scrabbling to put his hat back on as the camera self timer started flashing….

Many, many takes later, the best of the bunch:

2016 Christmas Portrait – Dozer looking seriously unimpressed as I forced him to look at the camera.

2017 Photoshoot – Dozer desperately trying to escape….

….then spying the roast Chook I popped on the edge of the pool by the iPhone in an attempt to bribe him into co-operating….

…then finally, getting a passable shot. Ignoring the expression on Dozer’s face.

Christmas photo – (semi) done.

Now – time for some FUN!

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas Nagi and Dozer from Penticton Canada! It’s Christmas Eve day here, a few light snow flakes are floating down and it’s a balmy -8degrees! This will be my first Canadian Christmas in 30 years. I am midway through prepping your Wild Rice Salad and about to start on a Brussels sprouts dish from my other favourite food blogger (I only subscribe to you two). These are my contribution to Christmas lunch tomorrow. Have a wonderful day and thanks for all your fabulous recipes! Now that I am retired and have time to cook, I will be trying more.

Bless you, Nagi, for such a great year of cooking and sharing!

Looking forward to 2018 — for me, my 75th year! I’m looking for those 5-ingredient and 30-minute 1-pan recipes. We humans sort of run out of energy after a certain number of decades, even though we may still have plenty of enthusiasm left!

I’m also looking forward to your adventures — it’s a pleasure to read about your shopping, trips around Oz and other places. I hope the new year is a fulfilling and special one for you! Sharon in DC

Merry Christmas Nagi. Extremely funny. If you didn’t become a chef you could have definitely become a comedian. God bless you and family.

Merry Christmas, Nagi! I love your sense of humor. Merry Christmas to Dozer as well. I think my dog is getting jealous of Dozer. 😉. It’s also sunny and warm where we live and I love it.

Hello from Canada, Nagi! Thanks for great recipes (we are foodies- oldest son is a fabulous professional chef; youngest runs 10 restaurants in Ottawa, Canada’s capital).

We too, are “goldie” owners and lovers of the breed- our latest, Georgia, came to us from Istanbul as part of the Golden Retriever Adoption group here in Ontario and she is a true darling.

Best to you, your family and Dozer- he is a truly gorgeous boy!!

    Best,

    Jani

I smile every time I see a new post from my favorite food blogger! Greetings from Atlanta, Georgia, where it’s still Christmas Eve. I’ve just made your cranberry sauce – love that you reserve a half cup of berries and add them last. And I’ve rubbed the turkey breast and have that sitting in the slow cooker in the fridge for the morning. I don’t know what I’d do without you and Dozer! Merry, Merry Christmas and I wish you and your family a blessed, healthy, happy and joyous 2018.

Oh, that looks so good. We’re expecting snow in Canada today so I can only dream of temps warm enough to swim in the pool. I’m thinking swimming is not Dozer’s favourite thing.
Thank you for all the delicious recipes that I have added to my menus.
Merry Christmas to you & yours!

Merry Christmas to you and Dozer from Calgary, Alberta, Canada where we’re expected to have the coldest day of the year on the 25th! But we have 7 dogs over the holidays to keep us warm…..I’m still having a hard time matching the Christmas hats with the swimming pool! Lucky you. Thanks for all that you do!

Wishing you and your family a lovely Christmas, Nagi. It was so special seeing you in Sydney in October! Hope you will make it to San Diego again soon. By the way, the family loved the TimTams, and they were already familiar with them. You can get them here now! I found dark chocolate ones. Yum! I’m on a baking jag: first attempt at macarons outside of a class yesterday, and they came out pretty well! Today I’m making my mom’s Viennese Hazelnut Torte with Mocha Buttercream, a/k/a Famiy Cake, so that grandson Zachary gets his first taste while he’s in San Diego. Cheers!
